Most studies found positive effects with daily doses starting at 125mg and slowly increasing until desired effect. While it is safe to consume up to 2,500 mg a day, a gradual increase is recommended when introducing a new supplement such as Magnesium.
Some researchers even claim that taking magnesium increases serotonin (happiness or relaxation hormone) production in the brain. They also believe that magnesium is good for reducing inflammation in internal organs. This may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and improve digestion/bowel movement.
