Magnesium Helped My Aching Legs

I Couldn’t Live Without Magnesium

I don’t take a lot of supplements even though I have worked in the alternative health arena for over 20 years now.  But there is one nutrient I swear by, and it is magnesium.

A few days ago I completed a road show where I was on my feet for many hours a day. Having spent the better part of the last 5 years sitting, this was very difficult for me.  I would be in pain when I wrapped up for the day, and driving the almost one hour stretch home, was excruciating.  By the end of the road show, I could hardly walk.

My Eureka Moment

During my first day home, exhausted by lack of sleep because of the pain in my legs, I suddenly remembered the magnesium (Natural Calm) sitting in my cupboard.  I immediately made myself a drink of Natural Calm and within minutes (seconds?) the discomfort in my legs was gone. Wow. How in the world did I forget about my old friend?

Why Magnesium Helps Leg Discomfort

A healthy magnesium balance in the body is easily disrupted by bad food, caffeine, stress, toxins and too much calcium.   Any of these factors can deplete magnesium resulting in many unwanted conditions.

For instance, legs can have cramps, discomfort with varicose veins or restless leg syndrome.  I have suffered from all 3 of these issues and magnesium has helped me every time.  Magnesium relaxes nerves and muscles so it is understandable why it diminishes cramps and spasms. Though the medical community will not admit to it, restless leg syndrome (RLS) also appears to be caused by a magnesium deficiency.  I used to work in a vitamin store and recommended it to hundreds of people over the years for this problem,  Almost every time magnesium resolved the issue.  No, I don’t have a science or medical degree.  But if something works at least 90% of the time, that is good enough for me.

In my opinion, magnesium is one of the best supplements a person can take to resolve tons of health issues. I have used it for so many things over the years including back pain, constipation, leg discomfort, hormonal imbalances, headaches, sleep and much more.

Make sure you get a form of magnesium that is easily assimilated by the body like a citrate.  CalMag is my absolute favorite.
