How to Avoid the Dentist Forever

Never Need the Dentist Again

I haven’t been to a dentist in 21 years (I am now 56).  No, my teeth aren’t yellow and neither am I missing any teeth.  Do I have a few cavities? Sure, but what is with the obsession about having to fill a few holes if you have good dental hygiene?  Do I come from a family with amazing teeth?  Not at all.  My mother had rotten teeth and had all her teeth removed in her early 50’s  and my sister got dentures at an even younger age.  Genetics are not a contributing factor.

My Decision to Avoid the Dentist

Before I get into my successful actions, let me tell you my realization many years ago.  I am originally from Vancouver, Canada. For many years,  (10 actually), in my 20’s I did not go to a dentist because I did not have a dental plan.  Then, I got a union job that had dental coverage.  I was happy to make my first dental appointment in many years.  The dentist only found 1 cavity on my first visit.  That is all I had acquired in 10 years.  Six months later at my next dental appointment, the dentist found 2 more cavities.  The same thing happened 6 months later.  I said to myself, something is wrong.  I now have 4 cavities in 1 year and only 1 for the previous 10 years.  At that point I realized that the dental treatments were contributing to my deteriorating teeth.

My Journey of Discovery

In 1993 I began working in Peter’s vitamin store in Los Angeles.  Very soon after starting to work there I read a book by a dentist, Dr. Hal Huggins, called “Its All In You Head”, about the dangers of mercury. That was an eye-opener and more confirmation that dentists used toxic materials.

Around the same time period I learned about the dangers of fluoride and I immediately stopped using  toothpastes containing fluoride.  There weren’t a lot of non-fluoride toothpastes back then but we were able to find a few and started carrying them in the store.

A few years later a co-worker told me about her experience using a  Sonicare toothbrush.  I immediately bought one and have been using it ever since.  I simply love it and I am sure it has a lot to do with my dental health.

My next quest back then was to find natural alternatives to kill bacteria in my mouth.  Peter had just developed 2 amazing products. – Silver Defense and  Oxy Boost.  I knew silver had been used as an anti-bacterial agent for thousands of years so I started putting it on my toothbrush a couple times a week along with Oxy Boost, a very potent stabilized oxygen which also killed microorganisms as well as helped whiten the teeth.  I also learned about the benefits of hydrogen peroxide and once a week I started to swish 3% hydrogen peroxide around in my mouth for about 10 minutes.

How I Deal with Toothaches

Sure, I have a couple of teeth that act up once or twice a year. Whenever this happens  I immediately put some Oxy Boost and Silver Defense in a glass and brush my teeth with them.  I also pull out the peroxide and swish that around too for several minutes. So far this procedure has  worked in every instance (toes & fingers crossed) to handle any tooth discomfort.

I do have one more tip but you will think I am a little nuts if I tell you.  Well here goes. I talk to my teeth when they act up. I talk to them like they are little personalities.  I tell them that I won’t pull any of them out, that I am “going to keep the family together”.  I swear they respond to my communication  just like plants like to be talked to.

Peter’s Silver Defense & Oxy Boost

I simply cannot say enough about these two products. They continue to be two of the best selling products in our store.  Besides using them for dental hygiene,  I have used them for dozens of problems over the last 15 years including food poisoning, sick pets, miscellaneous colds and infections and all sorts of skin conditions.  I always have them in my cupboard.   They are my first aid tools.  I highly recommend you try them out.

Oil Pulling

Recently, I began to practice oil pulling.  Oil pulling  comes from Ayurvedic Medicine which originated in northern India over 5,000 years ago.  Oil pulling can have a marvelous effect on the entire body as well as the mouth.  According to Dr. Mercola, “virtually everyone who tries it notices an improvement in their oral health.”

You can use sesame, sunflower or coconut oil.  I think coconut oil is best because it has some pretty amazing properties to it. Coconut oil destroys all kinds of bacteria and other harmful microbes.

All you have to do is put some oil in your mouth and swish it around, pulling it through your teeth.  Do this for about 20 minutes. You may have to work up to 20 minutes if you find your mouth gets tired.  I swear my teeth look whiter after each treatment.

Dentistry has come a long way in the last 20 years.  Many dentists no longer use toxic substances such as mercury and fluoride in their dental practices anymore.  But heck, why go a dentist and go through all that trauma (not to mention the exorbitant prices) if you don’t have to – right?
